Zzzzz

Hudson has been having a lot of trouble with his sleep schedule lately. Mainly, night time is the problem. He has always been a night owl. When most babies have bedtimes of 7:30, 8:00, or even 9:00, Hudson has always stayed up until then or later and we have had to rock him and make him go to sleep. I guess we have brought this on ourselves in a way, because we never put him in his crib awake. We have always rocked him or let him fall asleep and then put him in his crib. C'mon, he's our first and we are major softies! But anyway, lately he has stayed up until 11:00 on average! I am usually so tired and just can't handle it anymore that I end up getting frustrated and make him sit on my lap and cry and it's so awful! I just wish there was an easier way! For the last few months he has become so much more independent and gets a major temper when he doesn't get what he wants. Hmm wonder where that came from?? Not me, that's for sure!! So going to bed is no different. If I sit him on my lap, he will scream and wiggle and throw arms so hard that I have to put him down! I guess all of it is just a sneak peak of what is to come in the terrible 2's. I know we will get through it and eventually he will go to bed at a normal child bedtime, but until then Ill just have to look at the bright side and savor those weekend mornings when we get to sleep in until after 9! Ahh how refreshing! :)

How could I be negative at all about anything though, when I get to see this in the mornings...

I give up...

So I give up on trying to do this whole monthly thing and catch up to currently. I have wanted to blog something every day for the past week and then I remember, ugh, I cant because I still have 11 months to finish first and I really just dont want to get into it right now. So ya know what, forget it! I am going to put up a picture of every month of Hudson, though. One that was a favorite, and then I'm moving to the present! I know, how exciting that you finally get to know what is going on in our lives right now. Get ready!!

PS I also give up on trying to fix the spacing. Enjoy!

First Month of Hudson

I'm going to try to go through each month of Hudson's life and hopefully catch up to his current age soon. So here goes Hudson's first month :)

Hudson was such a wonderful baby in this first month of life. He still is wonderful, but in a different way. He was never a screamer and was happy 95% of the time. He was in the 90th percentile for Height and weight. Here are some of my favorite pictures of him at this age.

So there it is. I know I left out a lot, but that first month home was soo exhausting and I really wasn't even able to walk without cringing until about the 4th week. I have quite a few more pictures, but cant post them all. These will just have to do. :)

Then comes the Kellar's with a baby carriage!

And this is finally the beginning of this precious baby boys story!

I was induced on 9/8/09 at 7 am. If you have read my profile at all, you will see that he was born on 9/9, so my labor story is definitely a good one! We went to the hospital and to make a very long and grueling story short, I was in full on labor (without epidural) for around 17 hours before they informed me that I was going to have to have a C-section. So I got the epidural so I could sleep for a few hours. After that short nap, I was taken to the OR and at 2:26 am Hudson Brandt Kellar arrived! He was 7 lbs 15 oz, 20 in long. He was perfect in every way and we thank God for that every day.

Our First Family Picture

So that smile in the picture was a very forced smile. I was so sick and shaking like crazy. Shaking so hard that I could barely hold him when we got back to the room. I had to have Tommy and my mom help me. The first 2 hours of his life were a complete blur. I wasnt able to nurse, so Tommy fed him his first bottle. He's such a natural dad. He has been wonderful from day one. I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband and father to my baby.

Hudson was so good from the beginning too. He slept well, ate well and was always so aware of everything. My mom still always says, He doesnt know how old he is! He acts like he is 2! Ha! I think she is pushing that a little bit, but he has always seemed like he is big boy.

Then comes marriage...

Tommy and I were married on June 16, 2007. It was such a hot day, but it was beautiful! I have gone to a Christian church my whole life. My great grandmother has gone to this church all her life also. So it is a very special and sentimental place. It is an old white rustic church with a steeple and all. About 300 people attended and that was about how many we invited so it was a great turnout! It was a very exhausting day, but well worth it!

First comes Love...

I wanted to start out by telling the story of how Tommy and I met and our dating months... yes months, before marriage.

Tommy and I met in a class we had at Ball State University. The name of the class you ask, Interpersonal Relations: Sexuality. Yup, a little embarrasing. Good thing we didnt start talking and dating until the end of the semester, just in time for us both to give very awkward and embarrasing presentations in front of the entire class.

We really hit it off and could tell within a few months that we were meant to be together. We had more than likely seen each other on campus the previous 3 years, mainly on the football field since I was a cheerleader there and Tommy played football, but God brought us together at the perfect time in our lives. He had a plan for us both, together.

That was April of 2006. After 6 months of dating, Tommy proposed to me in the kitchen of my college house with a heart shaped pizza, after cheer practice. My roomies took pictures :)

I of course said yes!

Hello Blog World! We are the Kellars.

I am officially a blog member now! So exciting!

Hmm, well to start out, I just want to let everyone know that I have no idea how to do anything on here. So bare with me as I learn.

This blog will mostly revolve around my handsome son, Hudson Brandt. I want to try to journal some of his memories so that I can look back at them later. So here he is:

I hope to recap all of his previous memories in the next few days. This memorial day weekend seems to be suprisingly open, without any big commitments or activities, so besides a pitch in for the race, church and a cookout, I will be free to type my little fingers off!
I have been reading others blogs for about 3 months now. I was never really sure as to what they really were, but after finally giving them a chance, I found I love them. Some are so nice to just see what friends are up to and see updated pictures of them and their families and others are so inspiring! I have definitely felt like this is a place that has shown me the faith of others and in return helped me build a stronger faith in God. I am so blessed to have my wonderful family and everything God has given to me and I hope to pass that on to others!!
